Services for Children and Young People in Shetland, progress review
A review of services for children and young people in Shetland has found evidence of significant improvement following an earlier inspection.
Inspectors recently returned to the Shetland Community Planning Partnership to assess progress made following an inspection in July 2015 which identified an area of concern which needed improvement.

New vacancies: Care about physical activity - Improvement programme
Part of the Scottish Government’s 2020 vision is to maintain people in their own home or in a homely environment, to prevent ill health, inappropriate admission to hospital and support self management. The Care Inspectorate has been commissioned by Scottish Government to develop and lead an improvement programme to increase the levels of physical activity in older people using care services, in order to improve their health and wellbeing to enable them to participate fully in life.

Medical Device Alert
The Medical and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency have issued an alert about 'Alaris syringe pumps' which are manufactured by CareFusion.
The alert advises that using non-recommended syringes in Alaris syringe pumps that have a broken spring in the plunger assembly may cause unintended bolus of medication.
