The Care Inspectorate is encouraging care services across Scotland to bring together younger and older people for everyone’s benefit.
A new resource full of good practice examples is being launched to give care services ideas on how to bring generations together in a variety of care settings in a way that improves the quality of their lives.

NHS Tayside update their care home MUST management guidelines.
Staff are requested to calculate MUST scores as normal but the guidelines give clearer information on the actions that care staff should when a MUST score is one or two.

Services for children, young people and some adults in Scotland
Fewer children and young people are being placed in foster care, independent residential school care and secure care services in Scotland, according to a new report.
But at the same time, there has been an overall increase in children placed in care home services, the Care Inspectorate has said.

A reminder from the Care Inspectorate for services to submit their annual return before 15 February
Each year, we ask services to complete an annual return questionnaire. This tells us about the structure and operation of services and helps us to plan, inform and carry out inspections. The questionnaire also gives valuable insight into the overall state of care in Scotland, which we share with other organisations, such as the Scottish Government and the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
