Building a framework for offender risk assessment

The Risk Management Authority (RMA) has published its paper, Framework for Risk Assessment, Management and Evaluation: FRAME.

RMA has developed the paper in collaboration with a number of partners. It provides guidance to help professional staff working in criminal justice services to assess risks posed by offenders in the community.

Drive to prevent care home falls

best practice toolkit has been launched to help manage and reduce falls and fractures in Scotland's care homes.  Public Health Minister Michael Matheson today joined representatives of Scotland's social care inspectorate, Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (SCSWIS) and NHS Scotland, for the launch of their ‘Managing falls and fractures in care homes for older people' resource initiative in East Kilbride.

Report on care and permanence planning for looked after children

The Scottish Children's Reporter Administration (SCRA) has published a report on Care and Permanence Planning for Looked After Children in Scotland, as part of its work with the Looked After Children Strategic Implementation Group (LACSIG). 

This report looks at the pathways and decision-making processes through the care and court systems in Scotland for 100 looked after children from the point they were first identified as at risk, to the point of adoption or permanence.
