There is an update to the NHS Facilities Scotland Incident Reporting & Investigation Centre (IRIC) urgent safety action notice (SAN) for the recall of hygiene products associated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection.

Any social care setting using or having any of these items in use, should undertake the corrective action outlined in the safety notice to ensure people experiencing care and staff safety.

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has updated their "Eyes Right. Helping non-ophthalmic health care professionals deliver quality care safely" guide.

This updated guide highlights the importance of eye care, the role and responsibilities of the carer in delivering care, and accessing the right care at the right time. It has been developed for all non-ophthalmic nursing staff in adult care settings, ranging from non-ophthalmic hospital settings to residential and nursing homes.
