We are delighted to announce that applications are now open for registered care home services (grade 3 or above) to join our new reducing stress and distress improvement programme.
This programme is a collaboration between the Care Inspectorate, Healthcare Improvement Scotland and NHS Education for Scotland. The programme will work with teams in registered care homes to support improvement in the prevention and management of stress and distress for people living with dementia. We are seeking applications from services that are a grade 3 or above. When considering applications, we will also consider Care Inspectorate intelligence to guide the selection of grade 3 services.
Joining criteria
The programme is open to services interested in using quality improvement to improve an aspect of their service, to better support people living with dementia who experience stress and distress.
During the 12-week improvement support, our improvement advisors will support you to:
- create the conditions for improvement
- understand your current system
- identify, plan and test a change
- use data and measurement for improvement
- identify when to implement and scale change
- share learning
Following the conclusion of the application stage, the programme will launch in December 2024 and conclude in December 2025. Participating teams will be supported to identify and test improvement ideas during a 12-week programme. Teams will then join our collaborative and have access to continued coaching support for ongoing improvement. We will run four cohorts of our 12-week programme over the course of the year. See our 12-week improvement programme timeline here.
