The independent review has published its recommendations, which can be read here.
Jackie Irvine, Chief Executive of the Care Inspectorate, said: “We welcome the publication of the recommendations of the Independent Review of Inspection, Scrutiny and Regulation.
“Our scrutiny, assurance and quality improvement work is focused on ensuring that everyone experiences care that is tailored to their needs, is outcomes focused and promotes people’s rights and choices.
“We will take time to consider the recommendations carefully and examine where we can further develop aspects of our role to continue to support those experiencing care, support and learning opportunities.
“We look forward to working with the Scottish Government, partners across the sector and those experiencing care to support the work that is taken forward from the review.”
