We have now published Practice Guide to Chronologies. This guide is a revision of and replaces Practice Guide: Chronologies, published by the Social Work Inspection Agency in 2010.
This guide defines chronologies, explaining their uses and limitations and aims to help professionals address the variation in the quality and application of chronologies that our inspection work continues to identify.
This revised guide recognises the significant developments in approaches to multi-disciplinary working and service delivery that have taken place since 2010, for example, Getting it Right for Every Child. It also recognises that chronologies have equal relevance in work with adults, particularly evident in adult support and protection and criminal justice social work serious incident reviews.
