The Scottish Government has asked the Care Inspectorate to scope a learning and development pathway for childminders.
This is in response to the recommendations made in the Independent Review of the Scottish Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) Workforce and Out of School Care (OSC) Workforce published in 2015.
The aim of scoping project is to recognise and value the unique form of childcare provided by professional childminders and establish a learning and development pathway that will take a potential childminder from induction to career professional.
By setting out a pathway for quality childminding, this will also serve as a tool for registered childminders to help develop their service, encourage reflective practice and enhance their own learning and development.
The first stage of this project is to gain childminders’ views on what they think should be included in this pathway. We would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete this short questionnaire. It should take 5 – 10 minutes to complete and your responses are completely confidential.
