Hand dermatitis (also known as hand eczema) is a common condition affecting up to 10% of the population and some occupations including working in health care make us more vulnerable to dermatitis.

NES have developed a pocket guide and a train the trainer presentation for local use which provides acute and non acute healthcare workers and surveillance link workers with a better understanding of good hand care and the prevention of skin damage. The resources will be available February 2015.

NES are keen to work with health boards and care homes to implement the resources in practice and are offering short workshop sessions which can be held locally.
